Donor Spotlight: Mary Alice Peeling ’76

Mary Alice Peeling ’76

“I have named Hood the secondary beneficiary of my retirement fund. It’s a straightforward way to make a gift.”

After graduating from Hood, Mary Alice Peeling’s work in higher education taught her how much tomorrow’s students rely on the generosity of today’s alumni. That’s why she has named Hood as the beneficiary of her retirement account.

“I want future generations to have access to a Hood education,” Mary Alice says.

Since graduating from Hood, Mary Alice has remained in close touch with her alma mater, including hosting several alumni events and attending campus functions. Hood brought her many lifelong friends and, thanks to her future gift, the same will be true for tomorrow’s students.

“People may assume that you have to make a large gift to have an impact, but that isn’t true,” Mary Alice says. “Any amount will have an impact. Hood needs our support.”
