Donor Spotlight: Jane Olsen ’76
“Making Hood the beneficiary of the retirement funds gives me flexibility in case an unanticipated need arises.”
Jane Olsen gained tremendously from her Hood College experience, but, most important, it is where she met her future wife Judy. That’s why Jane has named Hood as the beneficiary of her and Judy’s retirement plans, establishing a scholarship to support future students.
Judy, who passed away in 2016, came to Hood thanks to a financial aid package. Sadly, it supported her attendance for only one year, which is why Jane’s scholarship will support students beyond their first year.
Jane, who has kept in touch with her fellow classmates and regularly attends Hood events, urges fellow alumni to join her in supporting Hood through their estate plans.
“Think of all that Hood did for you while you were a student and after you left campus,” she says. “Give with your heart.”
