Toni Lucia Uses Retirement Account to Support Enriching Opportunities for Future Students

Toni Lucia

On the advice of her high school guidance counselor, Anntoinette “Toni” Lucia ’73 made her way to Hood College from her small hometown in northeast Pennsylvania, launching her on a rewarding career and bringing her lasting friendships. Now Toni has made Hood the beneficiary of one of her retirement accounts to share the Hood experience with future generations.

Her legacy gift, which will be in her name, was easy to establish, Toni says. It is also a way to “pay it forward” and express gratitude to the school that profoundly influenced her professionally and personally.

“Hood made a huge difference in my life,” she says, noting that, as a student, she was part of the Student Government Association, choir, Sophomore Review, Mortar Board, and president of Shriner Hall. “I received a great education and built priceless relationships with lifelong friends.”

Now retired after a career as a consultant and entrepreneur, Toni remains active with her alma mater. She was a speaker at the Class of ’73 50th Reunion, served as fundraising co-chair for the 45th and 50th reunions, volunteered as class reporter, and served on an alumni panel on career planning.

Living today in New York City with her husband, Allyn Keiser, Toni urges her fellow alumni to join her in supporting Hood with a planned gift.

As she says: “Ideally, this gift will provide the opportunity for future students to expand their horizons both academically and personally and build a community that will support them many years beyond the ones spent on campus.”
